Purpose Association Wacken Water Works
With a water production rate of seven million cubic meter per year the Purpose Association Wacken Water Works is one of the largest providers of drinking water in Schleswig-Holstein. To carry out its duty the association operates three water works in Wacken and Warringholz (Steinburg) and in Kuden (Dithmarsia).
The egeb provides the business management for the association. The seven employees operate not only the water works but also 20 wells and a network of more than 600 monitoring stations. They are supervised by the technical department of the egeb.
The predominant customers are the companies of the ChemCoast Park Brunsbüttel, but approximatedly 15 % of the drinking waters is delivered to the communes in northern Steinburg.
